Always check the exact requirement printed on your own form or notification. Boards change pixel sizes and KB limits between years, and some now capture the photo live instead of accepting a file. SSC CGL 2026 moved to live photo capture during registration, so for that exam only the signature is uploaded as a file.

Signature between 10 and 20 KB

Sign with a black pen on plain white paper, photograph it in daylight, and crop tightly around the ink. The SSC signature preset resizes to 140×60 pixels (about 4×2 cm) and lands between 10 and 20 KB: if the JPEG comes out smaller than 10 KB, the tool pads it up so the portal doesn't reject it as too small.

For the photo, choose SSC photo in the Placement menu: 413×531 pixels (3.5×4.5 cm), between 20 and 50 KB, plain background, recent, no cap or glasses.

The 20–50 KB photo and 10–20 KB signature pattern is shared by many Indian boards: railway RRB, state SSCs, police recruitment and bank exams. The IBPS / SBI page covers the 200×230 and 140×60 pixel variants.

What is the SSC photo size?

A recent colour passport-style photo, 3.5×4.5 cm, JPEG between 20 and 50 KB. Check your notification; some SSC exams now capture the photo live.

What is the SSC signature size?

A JPEG between 10 and 20 KB, about 4×2 cm (140×60 pixels), signed in black ink on white paper.

My signature is only 6 KB. How do I make it 10 KB?

The preset pads the JPEG automatically to reach the 10 KB minimum. You can also set Min (KB) manually under More options in the Exact size mode.
