Group files by their destination rather than their folder

A folder can contain photographs, transparent logos, screenshots and scans. Those files may not belong in one conversion batch. A photograph for an email attachment might need JPEG, while a transparent logo should stay PNG. Start by separating assets that need the same output format and the same treatment of dimensions and backgrounds.

This preset keeps original pixels and exports JPEG at 90% quality with sharpening off. It is intended as a straightforward format-conversion starting point. Change the output to PNG or WebP when that suits the group. A batch shares the current controls, so it cannot independently assign a different format, size cap or sharpening setting to each image. Run separate groups when their requirements differ, and keep the original files available so you can make another export without using an already compressed copy.

Test transparency and difficult sources before selecting everything

Try a representative photo and a graphic before processing the rest. JPEG has no transparency, and this tool also flattens WebP output onto white. Choose PNG for a source whose existing alpha channel must remain. An opaque source does not gain transparency by changing its output extension, and background removal is not part of this workflow.

Check whether the browser can decode every source type. HEIC support depends on the device and browser, so test one file from that camera before batching a phone collection. This page does not use a server decoder for unsupported images. It also does not preserve animation or make a multipage PDF. For every successful sample, confirm orientation, dimensions and visible detail. An unfamiliar filename extension is not by itself a reason to shrink the image or add strong sharpening.

Manage the batch around your device's resources

The tool accepts up to 50 images per batch, with an existing limit of 80 MB for each input. Those limits do not mean every phone can process a group of the largest possible files comfortably. Large decoded images use memory beyond their compressed file size. If the browser becomes unresponsive, work in smaller groups and keep the page open until the downloads are complete.

Inspect the difficult outputs rather than trusting a single easy image. Detailed landscapes, flat diagrams and dark photographs can react differently to the same settings. Download individual files or the ZIP assembled in your browser, then open a sample from the downloaded set. Confirm the receiving application accepts the chosen format. The ZIP is a package of exported images, not a backup service or a public gallery. Your source files are not overwritten, and you remain responsible for storing the originals and the new exports where you need them.

Check the downloaded package before discarding the work session

Open the ZIP after downloading and inspect a photo, a graphic and any file type that was initially uncertain. Confirm that the outputs have the expected format and useful dimensions. A successful ZIP download only proves the package was created; it does not prove that every image is suitable for its destination. Keep the source set until the receiving workflow is complete. If some assets need a different format, return to those originals in a separate batch instead of reconverting the first outputs. That keeps the process understandable and avoids adding unnecessary lossy encodes to a file just to change its role.

Questions people ask

Can each file in a batch use a different format?

A batch shares the current export settings. Split the files into groups when some need JPEG and others need PNG or different dimensions.

Where is the ZIP created?

It is assembled in your browser from the exported images. This tool does not upload the source files to a conversion or ZIP server.

Why does a smaller batch help on my phone?

Decoded images require memory in addition to their file size. Work in smaller groups when large sources strain the browser, even when the files meet the input limits.
