Resize a raster logo without flattening its transparent background

Use a PNG delivery copy for an existing transparent logo. Keep your vector or design master, and check the mark at the size where it will actually appear.

Keep the editable logo master outside the compression workflow

A brand mark may begin as a vector drawing or a layered design file. Keep that master for future exports and professional production work. This page resizes supported raster images; it does not generate SVG, convert a bitmap into editable paths or replace a proper brand asset library. Export the needed raster logo from the original application when possible.

A small image copied from a website header is not a good source for a large sign or print project. Enlarging it here adds pixels without recreating the original outlines. For a website or profile picture, choose an asset that already has enough detail for the intended display. Check that you are using the correct light or dark version of the mark and that its existing clear space has not been trimmed away before you start.

Use fit, PNG and no sharpening for the first export

The starting settings fit the source inside 800 by 800 pixels, use PNG and leave sharpening off. The fit box is an example for a raster delivery asset, not a required logo size. Change it to suit the layout. Fit within keeps the full source proportions and does not enlarge a smaller file, so a long wordmark will not suddenly become a square.

PNG preserves the alpha already present in the source. This tool's JPEG and WebP outputs flatten onto white, which can make a logo unsuitable for a dark header. A quality slider does not reduce PNG size; smaller pixel dimensions are the main adjustable route here. Inspect thin strokes, counters inside letters and semitransparent edges after reducing. Extra sharpening can distort these features, so do not treat Strong as a brand-quality setting.

Test the logo in the real header, avatar or footer

Place the downloaded image against the page backgrounds where it will be used. Check the mobile header, the desktop header and any small footer version. A technically transparent logo can still have pale edge pixels that show as a halo on dark surfaces. Fix the source asset when that happens. Compression cannot replace the wrong brand color or remove an old baked-in background.

For a circular profile display, check the destination's crop preview. A square raster file can still lose a long wordmark inside a circle. Make a suitable source composition in your design application rather than squeezing it into a shape that hides its letters. For web accessibility, give a linked logo an appropriate accessible name and avoid tiny embedded slogans as the only place important information appears. Test one asset before processing a set of variants, and keep the original masters unchanged. All processing here stays in the browser.

Test the smallest mark rather than only the large preview

Place the logo at its smallest real usage size, such as a compact mobile header, and compare it with the larger desktop placement. Inspect narrow letter spaces, small symbols and any registered-mark detail required by your design. If the mark does not work at that size, a simplified brand variant may be needed from the designer. Increasing sharpening is not a substitute for that variant. Also test the transparent export against the exact page color, because a soft white halo may be invisible in a white preview. Keep a record of which source variant belongs to each background.

Questions people ask

Can this turn a PNG logo into a true vector?

No. It exports raster PNG, JPEG or WebP. Keep the original vector design or obtain it from the designer when you need scalable paths.

Why is a white box visible behind my logo?

The source may be opaque, or an opaque output format was selected. Keep an actually transparent source in PNG; this tool does not remove baked-in backgrounds.

Can I make my small header logo suitable for print?

Upscaling cannot recreate missing outlines or detail. Use the vector master or a sufficiently large original and follow the printer's specifications.
