Prepare a batch of photos for WhatsApp

Apply a practical starting preset to several originals, then review the individual results. Our chat preset fits each image inside a 1600×1600 box without forcing a shared crop.

Choose a set before choosing a preset

A useful photo batch starts with selection. Remove accidental screenshots, nearly identical frames, and images you do not intend to share before opening the tool. That reduces review work and makes it less likely that the wrong file goes into a conversation. For an event, choose photographs that add something different rather than sending every capture from the camera roll.

This page uses our chat-photo preset for each image: fit inside 1600×1600 pixels, preserve its proportions, and use a 1 MB export cap. A portrait stays a portrait and a landscape stays a landscape. These are local preparation settings, not a claim that every received WhatsApp file has those dimensions or that WhatsApp will skip its own processing.

Keep the originals together in a source folder and download sharing copies elsewhere. A batch workflow should not turn compressed chat images into your only archive. If the set contains a large group photo, a small-text screenshot, or an image someone needs to print, mark it for a separate decision rather than assuming the same preset is ideal for everything in the folder.

Review the exceptions inside the batch

Batch processing is convenient because the starting settings are shared, but the pictures still deserve individual attention. One bright outdoor scene may compress cleanly while a dark indoor image shows noise and blocks. One portrait may have a clear face while a wide group photograph makes every face small. Open the results that are most demanding, then inspect the remaining files for obvious mistakes.

  1. Select the original photographs you intend to share.
  2. Process them with the chat-photo preset.
  3. Review each result for orientation, subject, and visible detail.
  4. Separate images that need a larger or different export.
  5. Download the reviewed files and check the saved set before attaching it.

Different output sizes are normal. A textured scene can require more data than a simple portrait even when their dimensions match. Do not try to make every export exactly the same number of kilobytes. Instead, check whether important faces, lettering, and details remain useful. If an image needs special treatment, return to its original rather than recompressing the batch download.

Send the right files in the right workflow

After downloading, confirm which files you are attaching in WhatsApp. Similar names and nearly identical thumbnails can make it easy to choose an older export or an unwanted frame. If order matters, inspect the actual attachment sequence in the composer rather than relying on the order shown in a download folder.

For higher-detail chat images, prepare a separate set with the HD photo tool and check WhatsApp's HD controls when sending. If someone needs file attachments rather than inline photo messages, use the Document workflow. This site does not message the group, choose recipients, or activate a quality setting in another app.

On a phone, a very large source set can consume memory and take time to process. If the browser becomes slow, work in smaller groups of files and keep the original selection available. Do not confuse a completed export with a completed delivery: open the received version when a particular detail matters. For a team or family group photograph, the group photo page explains the face-by-face check. For a screen capture, the screenshot page starts with PNG rather than applying the photo preset to small interface text.

Questions people ask

Does batch processing crop all photos to the same shape?

This page's chat preset fits each source inside a box and preserves its own proportions. It does not force every image into one shared crop.

Why are some exports larger than others?

The images contain different detail and texture. A shared preset does not mean identical file sizes, and size alone is not a useful quality score.

Will the batch be sent to WhatsApp automatically?

No. Download the prepared files, then choose the chat, attachment workflow, order, and sending quality yourself.
