A product photograph has a practical job: help someone recognise the item and understand what they are looking at. Before worrying about kilobytes, inspect the framing. A bottle needs its cap and base; a shoe needs its toe and heel; packaging may need the front label and a little surrounding space. Cropping too tightly can remove context or make the item feel squeezed.
This page opens our 1080×1080 pixel square export. It is a convenient working size for a consistent product set, not a rule for every Instagram placement. If the product is tall or has an important vertical silhouette, compare the portrait tool before committing to the square.
Start from a clean edited photograph. Remove distracting objects, correct exposure, and choose the background in your photo editor first. The compressor cannot remove a background, clean dust, change a product's colour, or repair glare hiding a label. Sharpening can emphasise an existing edge, but it cannot reveal text that was unreadable in the source. A better source saves more detail than an aggressive export setting.
