Give the design a readable hierarchy

An announcement image works when people can quickly tell what matters. A main title, a short supporting line, and a small amount of essential context are easier to read than a full page of text squeezed into an image. Begin in your design application, where you can change type size, spacing, contrast, and the amount of copy.

This page starts with PNG at the source dimensions, sharpening off, and no crop. Supply a finished raster design. The tool does not add text, change fonts, lay out a poster, or convert an image back into editable text. A screenshot of a tiny graphic is not a substitute for exporting again from the original design file.

Keep important information away from the outer boundaries, particularly if the same artwork will be reused in a different layout. A feed image, event cover, and Story have different shapes and can be previewed differently. Instead of forcing one dense design into all of them, make separate source layouts where needed. The compressor can prepare each finished layout, but it cannot make a wide event banner and a vertical Story share a useful composition automatically.

Check the practical text, not just the headline

A large headline can stay sharp while a date, price, phone number, or address becomes difficult to read. Compare those smaller details at approximately the size of a post on your phone. Inspect punctuation, numerals, and thin strokes. A technically valid export can still fail its purpose if the viewer cannot read the action you expect them to take.

  1. Export the final design from its editable source application.
  2. Open it here with the no-crop PNG settings.
  3. Check the smallest essential text at normal phone size.
  4. If you resize, compare that text again after processing.
  5. Download and inspect the saved image before adding it to Facebook.

Strong sharpening can make lettering look rough or add bright and dark fringes, which is why this page starts with it off. PNG can suit flat areas and text, but a design containing a detailed photograph may produce a large file. Compare a high quality JPEG when useful and watch both the lettering and the photo. Changing format does not guarantee how Facebook will process the upload.

Keep essential information in the post itself

Repeat the key message in the post text or the appropriate event or business fields. People may use accessibility tools, have difficulty reading small lettering, or encounter a cropped preview. Image text alone is a fragile place for the only copy of a date, location, or instruction. A written description also gives you a practical place to add context without crowding the design.

Save the editable source and a clearly named publishing copy. If details change, edit the source rather than writing over a compressed screenshot. Check that a revised graphic and the accompanying text agree before posting. An old date hidden in a footer can survive even when you update the headline, so review the entire design rather than only the part you changed.

For an event, use the event cover page to prepare a separate wide asset and inspect the actual event preview. For a shared webpage, the link preview page explains why the image file and the website metadata are separate tasks. After publishing a normal graphic, open the actual post and confirm that the practical text remains readable. The platform can crop or re-encode the file, so a clean local PNG is a useful source, not a promise of an unchanged published image.

Questions people ask

Can I change the words on my poster here?

No. Edit the words and layout in your design application, then use this tool to prepare the finished raster image.

Why is my PNG larger than the original file?

A canvas export is not guaranteed to shrink an already optimised image. PNG can also be large for designs with detailed photographs. Compare formats and dimensions only when readability remains acceptable.

Should the announcement exist only inside the image?

No. Put the essential message in the post text or the relevant event fields as well, so people can use it without reading small image lettering.
