Choose a listing copy without altering the property's appearance

Real estate photographs need to show a space clearly and honestly. Compression is a delivery step after you have chosen and edited the photographs. It is not a substitute for correcting perspective, choosing a better exposure or capturing an important feature. This tool does not straighten walls, replace skies, brighten a room or remove objects from a property image.

Keep the original set and any edited masters. A portal may need one export today while a brochure or another listing service needs a different size later. Separate exterior, interior and detail images if they require different crops. Fit within preserves the whole frame, which is useful when doorway edges or room corners matter. Exact cropping can improve a thumbnail composition, but check that it does not hide a relevant part of the space.

Inspect difficult architectural detail before lowering quality

This preset fits each photograph within a 2048 by 2048 box and exports JPEG with Light sharpening. That is a practical gallery starting point, not a requirement for every property portal. Check the receiving service's current instructions and preview behavior, then adjust the export accordingly. Avoid imposing an arbitrary small byte cap when the portal does not require it.

Look at window frames, railings, roof tiles, brickwork and foliage. These can reveal compression damage more readily than a plain wall. Smooth painted surfaces and bright skies also deserve a check for banding. If sharpening creates bright rims along a dark window frame, turn it down. If the original contains motion blur or blown highlights, compression cannot repair them. Return to the edited master or choose another exposure before generating the final listing copies.

Test a whole viewing journey, including the phone gallery

Download a few representative exports and place them in the real listing draft. Check the opening image, the gallery thumbnails and the expanded view on a phone and a larger display. A portal may crop previews differently from the full image. Keep the most important room feature away from an edge that the preview removes, or make a separate lead-photo crop if the service supports it.

Then process similar images together. A gallery with shared settings still needs individual review when a portrait bathroom shot sits beside a wide exterior. Keep filenames or an ordering list so the entrance, living area and other rooms stay in the intended sequence. Images are handled locally in the browser, but review visible sensitive details before publishing: documents, family photographs, mirrors and vehicle plates remain visible after re-encoding. The converter does not redact the contents of a room.

Try an interior and an exterior before the full property set

A bright room with window frames and a leafy exterior make useful first tests. Inspect the room's straight lines and dark corners, then check fine outdoor texture. A setting that is adequate for a plain wall may not be adequate for a patterned roof or a distant garden. Download both and inspect their portal previews. If the listing makes a shallow opening thumbnail, choose the lead image with that crop in mind rather than expecting a full gallery photo to solve every placement. Keep the larger originals for another portal, a brochure or a later edit of the same property.

Questions people ask

Will this correct leaning walls or wide-angle distortion?

No. It resizes, crops and encodes the image you provide. Correct perspective in your photo editor before making listing exports.

Should I use the same crop on every property photo?

Only when it preserves the useful content. Inspect portrait rooms, wide exteriors and close details individually, especially in portal thumbnails.

Does removing metadata hide personal items in the photo?

No. Visible documents, reflections, photographs and plates remain in the image. Review or redact those in an editor before sharing a property listing.
