A Discord avatar often appears much smaller than its uploaded source. A clear character silhouette, portrait, or simple symbol can remain recognisable beside a conversation. Detailed illustrations may still work, but the important feature needs to survive that reduction. Do not rely on a tiny caption or a background object to explain who the image represents.
This page prepares our 512×512 square PNG. That is a working export choice, not an asserted exact upload requirement. Discord's profile help explains its current avatar controls and account features. Check your own uploader for the accepted file and preview rather than assuming the same options apply to every account.
Leave space around the main shape for rounded presentations and different display sizes. A tightly cropped face may lose hair or ears, while a detailed symbol can look cramped at the edge. Use the original portrait or artwork whenever possible instead of a screenshot of an avatar that has already been resized.
