Send a photo that answers the customer's question

A customer asking about a product may need something more specific than an attractive overall image. They might want to see the colour, a connector, a size label, the condition of a used item, or what is included in a box. Choose the source photograph that answers that question before reducing its size. A clear close-up can be more useful than a large but distant product view.

This page starts with our chat-photo preset: fit within 1600×1600 pixels, keep proportions, and export within a 1 MB cap. Those are our sharing settings, not a specification for a WhatsApp Business catalog or every commerce surface. If you are adding a catalog item, check the actual editor and its current instructions separately.

Keep the product accurate. Remove distractions or correct lighting in your own editor, but do not rely on compression to repair glare or reveal a hidden model number. The tool cannot remove a background, change a colour, or create a clean product render. Use a focused original photo with the relevant parts visible, and keep the unedited or edited master for future questions.

Check the details that affect a buying decision

Compare the prepared image where the customer is likely to look. Inspect a label if they need a model number, seams or texture if condition matters, and the full outline if shape is important. A sharpening setting that makes a box edge look crisp may make fabric look artificially rough, so judge the subject rather than the general impression of sharpness.

  1. Choose the original product photo that answers the question.
  2. Process it with the chat-photo preset and inspect the result.
  3. If a label remains too small, use a closer source photograph.
  4. Download and give the file a clear product-related name.
  5. Attach it in the intended WhatsApp conversation and review the preview.

Avoid sending a screenshot of a screenshot from an older chat. It can include interface elements, lose detail, and make the customer doubt what they are seeing. Return to the original product library where possible. If a larger view is needed, compare the HD preparation page and choose the sending mode in WhatsApp. The website does not publish or message customers for you.

Compress a photo

Build a practical product photo library

Keep separate folders for source images and sharing copies. Use names that distinguish the product, view, and version, so a similar-looking item does not get sent by mistake. An overall image, a label close-up, and a useful detail shot often answer different questions. The compressor can prepare those files, but it does not manage stock information or keep images synchronised with a catalog.

Put price, availability, measurements, and ordering details in the message or the relevant business fields. Tiny text embedded on a photograph can be difficult to read and easy to leave out of date. If you use a designed product card, edit it in the source application before exporting and verify the smallest text on a phone.

For an important transaction, check that the received photo still shows the relevant detail. A thumbnail alone is not enough to judge a model number or subtle condition mark. When a recipient needs an image file for their own records or design work, consider a Document attachment and preserve the original. If the same product will also appear on Instagram, make a separate Instagram product export from the master rather than reusing a photo downloaded from a chat. Different crops serve different purposes.

Questions people ask

Is this a WhatsApp Business catalog manager?

No. It prepares image files for customer conversations. Add or update catalog items in WhatsApp Business and follow that editor's current instructions.

Can it make a product label readable?

It can preserve detail present in a clear source, but it cannot reconstruct unreadable lettering. Take a closer photograph if the label is too small.

Should I reuse a chat download for Instagram?

Use the original master instead. Create a separate social crop so you avoid another encode of a previously shared image.
